Maritime conference Varna, 2015 provides a hot topics for the maritime industry
“Maritime Conference Varna, 2015″ organised by Association “Seafarers Professional Development Cluster” has been successfully carried out. Approximately 40 people from various maritime and business organisations actively participated in the event. During the conference were discussed issues that had gathered head regarding the maritime profession.
Ms. Maya Evtimova, Chairman of the Association, opened the event wishing everyone a fruitful dialogue with which to set out future prospects and opportunities in the maritime business.
Veneta Georgieva – Senior Inspector from E.A. “Maritime administration” presented The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments (BMW Convention). The Adoption of the Convention by Bulgaria is a necessary challenge, and our country is actively working for its ratification.
Capt. Ph.D Kalin Kalinov from „N.Y. Vaptsarov„ Naval Academy presented the theme “Specifics of the management and organization of maritime business”..
Capt. Andrey Stanev – Trade Manager at VSTEP East Europe, presented the innovations in maritime simulations. Capt. Stanev shared the company’s vision regarding development of future projects for offshore platforms simulators.
The theme“State and perspectives for development and research of oil and gas in the Bulgarian territory of Black Sea” creates best interest in the audience. The presentation gave away a very detailed picture of the studies made in this area ate the territory of the Black Sea and what is going to happen. It was presented byPh.D. George Georgiev, specialist in petroleum geology and geo-energy resources, consultant in oil exploration, SU „St. Climent Ohridski”.
Ms. Maya Rogashka, Doctor of Military Psychology, drew attention to the important psychological moment for the provision of marine experts and presented a new technology for preliminary psychological screening, STC product.
Capt. Ph.D Miroslav Tzvetkov lecturer at „N.Y. Vaptsarov„ Naval Academy outlined current tendencies in maritime profession. He presented the education system for marine specialists in the largest maritime educational institution in Bulgaria – Naval Academy “N. Vaptsarov “.
Ms. Maya Evtimova, Chairman of NGO “Seafarers Professional Development Cluster” closed the conference by presenting the project „Seafarers’ professional development cluster” – implementation of innovative methods to popularize and promote the maritime work as a possibility for professional development and carrier” with the financial support of the Operational Programme “Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” 2007- 2013, under the Call for proposals BG161PO003-2.4.01 “Support for the Development of Clusters in Bulgaria”, co-funded by the European Union trough the European Regional Development Fund.
The conference was attended by representatives of maritime associations of Varna and Burgas, representatives of higher and secondary maritime educational institutions, state executive agencies and maritime business in Bulgaria.
